Nurdan Catalkaya qualified in law in 2019 and has a background in immigration law and public administration.
She has worked at the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI), where she was attached to Team Fast Track, the Greenland team, the agriculture team and many other teams, dealing with the legal processing of applications for residence and work permits under the Aliens Act and relevant executive orders. - Preparation of draft decisions, including both approvals and rejections, with comprehensive legal justification
- Ongoing dialogue with applicants, employers, educational institutions, and embassies with a view to obtaining additional information
- Guidance for citizens and businesses on applicable rules, procedures, and practices
- Contribution to the interpretation and implementation of practice changes in international recruitment
The position required a high level of legal expertise, precision, and responsibility, as well as the ability to communicate complex rules clearly and comprehensively.
The Tax Authority
April 2019 – August 2021Legal and administrative case handling within the tax area in accordance with applicable tax legislation and administrative law principles.
Work tasks included:
- Treatment and interpretation of tax rules related to preliminary tax assessments, annual tax assessments, and tax assessments
- Guidance for citizens regarding income matters, tax deductions, and changes to their preliminary tax assessment.
- Processing of appeals, requests for access to documents and preparation of decisions
